Marcelo Spinola School joins in the celebration of the “Season of Creation 2022 with the theme: “Listen to the voice of Creation.” We had launched it last 31 of August and we culminated the celebration last 7th day of October, 2022.
With the desire to level up our commitment to the care of our Mother Earth, the school through the Campus Ministry Office prepared activities, which were participated by the whole school community.
Everyday, students prayed the prayer for this Season of Creation.
Every Wednesday in our Basic Ecclesial Community-Gospel Sharing, MSS Educators had a special prayer and reflection related to the celebration. Last October 24, 2022, we had the Mangrove Tree Planting and Coastal Clean Up activities in the near sea coast (Palid, Magdaup). The sisters, faculty & staff, barangay officials of the place, and two workers from the Department of Environment and National Resources participated the said event.
During the month-long celebration, the students also participated the “See and Listen Challenge” activity, wherein they were invited to listen to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor through the nature and the different realities around. They were encouraged to create poems, songs, videos, infographics, and posters to express their reflections.
We ended the celebration with the exposition of students' outputs and a short program, giving everyone the recognition we all deserved for a job done with love and dedication-all for our Mother Earth.
We thank the gift of the Season for it helped us grow and see that through our continues efforts in taking care of our common home- our prayers and concrete actions, we make this world a more humane world, where everyone can live with contentment and joy.
