El mayo evento de la celebración de la semana de los fundadores en Ipil fue el Lanzamiento de la Fundación Spínola Solidaria.
First it was formally presented to the students, teachers and staff on January 30 and to the parents on February 02, during the Family Day. Moved by the situation of the country in this time of crisis brought especially by the recent super typhoon, the earthquake and the siege, we introduced Spinola Solidaria with the theme, “Spinolanians: Make a difference!”. The students were given reflection activities in the classroom and short video clips were projected for them to increase their awareness of the important issues that our country and the world are facing today; presented also were the things generously granted to us by the Spinola Solidaria Foundation.
The launching of the Foundation led us to several fun-filled fund raising activities. We had alternative classes (like Spanish class, origami, cooking, etc), wherein the students paid five pesos for the class that they attended; the selling of Spinola Solidaria items (T-shirt, mug, tumbler, paper clay, ballpen, umbrella, flashlight, bags, etc.); selling of old books and an entrance ticket of 20 pesos per student for the Variety show presentation, showcasing the performances of our talented students. The same ticket served as an entry for the Pick-a-Prize game.
We are grateful because this project has been warmly welcomed as seen in the generous contibutions of prizes and purchasing of the Spinola Solidaria items by the different members of the school community: parents, educators, students, alumni and visitors who came for the Family Day. Above all, we thank God for blessing us always and for allowing us Filipinos to actively collaborate, even in little ways, in the Congregation’s mission of announcing His personal love impelling us also to be in solidarity with our needy brothers and sisters in the different parts of the world.
We believe that what we have started will eventually grow in the future. A true Spinolanian can make a difference!
